Step-by-step fixes

1
Ensure you are connected to Wi-Fi during activation
eSIM profiles download over the internet. If your Wi-Fi connection drops during the QR scan, activation fails silently. Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network and try again.
2
Check the QR code has not expired
Most eSIM QR codes are single-use and expire after a set period. If you received the QR more than 24–48 hours ago and have not scanned it, contact LTE.app support for a replacement.
3
Scan in ideal lighting and hold steady
Blurry or glare-affected QR scans cause incomplete reads. Use the manual entry code (SM-DP+ address) as an alternative: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Enter Details Manually.
4
Remove and re-scan with carrier lock off
If your device is carrier-locked to your home network, international eSIMs may fail to activate. Check if your home carrier has locked your device — this requires contacting them to unlock.
5
Ensure iOS / Android is up to date
Older OS versions have known eSIM bugs. iOS: Settings → General → Software Update. Android: Settings → Software Update. Install any pending updates and retry activation.
6
Use Smart Coach for automatic diagnosis
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — even without mobile data — and walks you through the exact fix for your device and carrier.

Frequently asked questions

My eSIM shows "Activation Required" but nothing happens when I tap it. What do I do?
"Activation Required" means the profile downloaded but has not connected to the carrier server yet. Ensure data roaming is on, toggle airplane mode, and wait up to 5 minutes. If still stuck, use Smart Coach.
The QR code scanner does not open when I tap "Add eSIM." What is wrong?
Try restarting your device. On iOS, ensure you are on the latest version. If the scanner still does not open, use manual entry: tap "Enter Details Manually" and input the SM-DP+ address from your QR email.
I scanned the QR but my eSIM does not appear in Settings. Was it installed?
If the eSIM does not appear in Cellular settings, the installation did not complete. Try the scan again on a different Wi-Fi network. If the QR has been used once already, contact support for a replacement.
