Walk through dead zones.
Earn LTE tokens.

Our coverage map gets better the more travelers contribute real-world signal samples. Missions are geofenced challenges that pay you in LTE tokens for walking through known cellular gaps. 100% opt-in. Hex-binned. No continuous location tracking. Cancel anytime.

Live missions worldwide

Every dot is an active geofenced challenge. Walk the hex, contribute samples, claim the reward.

No active missions right now — fresh challenges drop every 24 hours.

How it works

Open the app, opt in, walk. The server handles fairness, fraud prevention, and rewards.

1
🗺️
Pick a Mission

Open the Community tab. We auto-generate fresh missions every 24h from real coverage gaps in your area or your trip destinations.

2
🚶
Walk through the hex

Each mission is a single H3 hex (~1 km²). Walk through it, opt-in samples flow in the background, no app to keep open.

3
🎁
Claim your reward

Hit the sample threshold and the Claim button lights up. Tokens land in your LTE wallet immediately, with the usual tier + streak multipliers applied.

Reward types

Three mission flavors. Tier and streak multipliers apply to all of them.

Dead Zone Detective

Map a hex with no recent samples. Highest base reward.

25–50 LTE
Coverage Confirmer

Verify a hex that already has data. Smaller reward, helps freshness.

5–15 LTE
City Goal contributor

When you contribute to an active City Goal, your share of the city-wide reward pool stacks on top.

Privacy promise

  • ✓ Off by default. The toggle is in the Privacy tab, not buried in onboarding.
  • ✓ Samples are H3-binned (~1 km²) on the device and re-binned by the server. Raw GPS never leaves your phone.
  • ✓ No phone number, no SIM identifier, no continuous tracking.
  • ✓ Per-device and per-anon-account rate limits stop bots and reward farming.
  • ✓ One-tap revoke clears every flag including OpenCellID.

Frequently asked

What is a Mission?
A geofenced challenge to walk through (or near) a known cellular coverage gap and report back what your phone is actually seeing. The server uses your samples to update our coverage map for everyone, and you get LTE tokens for the trouble.
Is this opt-in?
Strictly. The contribution toggle ships off by default and lives in the Privacy tab. We never collect coverage samples without an explicit opt-in, and you can revoke at any time — turning the toggle off also clears the OpenCellID flag and calls our explicit revoke endpoint.
What data do you collect?
Approximate location (binned to an H3 hex, ~1 km² resolution), signal strength in dBm, the carrier name your phone is connected to, and a per-minute timestamp. No phone number, no SIM identifier, no contact data, no continuous location stream. The server re-bins everything to a canonical H3 cell so the client can’t lie about resolution.
Can I farm rewards by sitting still?
No. Mission progress only counts distinct per-minute buckets of measurable signal samples — and we cap per-device and per-anonymous-account ingest. You actually have to walk through the hex.
What can I do with LTE tokens?
Tokens redeem for plan discounts, Mystery Hex multiplier boosts, Streak Freezes, and Premium membership credit. We publish exchange rates inside the app.
Does this drain my battery?
Sampling is 2-minute capture / 5-minute flush with a 50-sample buffer. Real-world impact on a modern phone is comparable to having a weather widget on your home screen.
Do I have to share to OpenCellID too?
No — OpenCellID sharing is a separate opt-in toggle that is disabled until you turn on contribution to LTE.app first. They’re independent: you can contribute to us only, or to both.
