Step-by-step fixes

Enable data roaming
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Options → Data Roaming: On (iOS). Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Data Roaming: On (Android). Most "No Service" issues are caused by data roaming being disabled.

Set the eSIM as the active data line
If your phone has a physical SIM alongside your eSIM, check which line is set for data. iOS: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → select your travel eSIM. Android: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Mobile Data → select eSIM.

Toggle airplane mode
Airplane mode for 30 seconds, then off. Wait 60 seconds. Your phone will search for local carriers and register. This fixes most "No Service" situations.

Manually select a carrier
iOS: Settings → Cellular → Network Selection → disable Automatic → select a carrier from the list. Android: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network operators. Choose any carrier shown.

Restart your device
