Samsung Galaxy eSIM Not Working?
These steps cover Samsung Galaxy S20 through S24, Z Fold, and Z Flip. Samsung's SIM Manager interface is slightly different from stock Android — here is exactly where to look.

LTE.app Smart Coach — automatic diagnosis
Smart Coach checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — no data needed. Open the app and tap Smart Coach to fix most issues in under 60 seconds.
Step-by-step fixes
1
Open Samsung SIM Manager — not standard Android settings
Samsung uses a custom SIM Manager. Find it at Settings → Connections → SIM Manager. This is where you manage which SIM is active for calls and data on Samsung devices.
2
Enable Mobile Data for the eSIM line
In SIM Manager, tap your eSIM → toggle "Mobile Data" on. Then tap "Data roaming" → enable. Both must be on for international data.
3
Set the eSIM as your preferred data SIM
SIM Manager → Data SIM → select your eSIM. Samsung devices default to whichever SIM was active last — if your home SIM is selected, no data flows through the eSIM.
4
Check APN settings in Samsung Network Manager
Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names → your eSIM carrier. Verify the APN matches the one in your LTE.app plan details. Add it manually if missing.
5
Toggle the eSIM off and on via SIM Manager
SIM Manager → tap your eSIM → toggle "Enable" off, wait 15 seconds, toggle on. Samsung modems sometimes need a hard line reset to register to a new carrier.
6
Restart in Safe Mode to rule out app conflicts
Hold the power button → long-press "Power Off" → tap "Safe Mode." If eSIM works in Safe Mode, a third-party app is interfering. Reboot normally and uninstall recently added apps.
7
Use Smart Coach for automatic diagnosis
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — even without mobile data — and walks you through the exact fix for your device and carrier.
Frequently asked questions
Which Samsung phones support eSIM?
Samsung Galaxy S20 series and later (2020+), Z Fold 2+, Z Flip 5G+, and Note 20 Ultra support eSIM. Older Samsung models (S10, Note 10 outside certain regions) may not have eSIM hardware.
My Samsung shows the eSIM carrier name but no internet. What is wrong?
Enable data roaming (SIM Manager → your eSIM → Data Roaming: On) and set your eSIM as the preferred data SIM (SIM Manager → Data SIM). Then check the APN settings for your carrier.
How do I scan a QR code on Samsung Galaxy?
Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code. Use the camera to scan, or tap "Enter Activation Code Manually" to type the SM-DP+ address.
My Galaxy eSIM worked before but stopped after a software update. What should I do?
Samsung updates sometimes reset SIM Manager preferences. Re-open SIM Manager and check that your eSIM is still set as the data SIM and that data roaming is still enabled. Reset network settings if needed.
