eSIM QR Code Expired or Not Working?
Most travel eSIM QR codes are single-use — once scanned, the QR code is consumed and cannot be used again. Here's how to get a replacement.

Step-by-step fixes
1
Understand single-use QR codes
When you scan an eSIM QR code, the code is consumed and linked to your device. Scanning it a second time (on the same or a different device) will fail with "Plan already installed" or "QR code expired." This is by design — not a bug.
2
Request a new QR code from your provider
If you need to reinstall your eSIM (new phone, accidental deletion, failed installation), contact your provider for a replacement QR. LTE.app issues free replacement QR codes for any active plan through in-app support.
3
Check that you scanned from the correct app
eSIM QR codes must be scanned from your phone's system eSIM installer — not from a regular camera or barcode app. iOS: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code. Android: Settings → Network → SIMs → Add SIM → Scan QR.
4
Check if the QR was used on a different device
If someone else or another device scanned your QR code first, it is consumed. A new QR code is needed. The plan data is still available — it just needs a new QR associated with your device.
Frequently asked questions
My eSIM QR was never scanned but says "used." What happened?
QR codes can occasionally be flagged as used due to a failed partial installation attempt. Contact LTE.app support with your order details — we will verify and reissue the QR at no cost.
How many times can I use the same eSIM QR code?
Most travel eSIM QR codes are single-use. Once successfully scanned and installed, the QR cannot be used again. However, LTE.app can reissue a new QR code for any active plan as many times as needed.
