LTE.app Smart Coach — automatic diagnosis
Smart Coach checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — no data needed. Open the app and tap Smart Coach to fix most issues in under 60 seconds.
Step-by-step fixes
1
Disable airplane mode and let the phone search
After arriving in a new country, put your phone in airplane mode for 30 seconds, then turn it off. Give the phone 60 seconds to find and register to a local carrier.
2
Enable data roaming on the eSIM line
Settings → Cellular → your eSIM line → Data Roaming: On. Without this, your eSIM will connect to a carrier but block all data.
3
Manually select a network carrier
iOS: Settings → Cellular → Network Selection → turn off Automatic, then select a carrier manually. Android: Settings → Network → SIM → Network Operators → Search. Try each listed carrier until data works.
4
Check the eSIM plan is still active
Plans expire after their validity window. Check your plan status in the LTE.app dashboard. If expired, purchase a new plan — there is no need to reinstall the eSIM profile.
5
Restart your phone completely
A full restart (not just sleep/wake) re-initialises the modem. Hold power and volume, restart fully, wait 2 minutes for network registration.
6
Use Smart Coach for automatic diagnosis
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — even without mobile data — and walks you through the exact fix for your device and carrier.

Why does my eSIM show "Searching" and never connect?
"Searching" means your phone cannot register to any carrier on that eSIM profile. Causes: data roaming off, plan expired, or the carrier in your area requires manual selection. Try manually selecting a network in your cellular settings.
My eSIM worked yesterday but now has no signal. What happened?
Most likely the plan has expired (check validity in LTE.app), you moved to an area without carrier coverage, or a network glitch. Toggle airplane mode, wait 60 seconds, toggle back. If the plan is active and coverage exists, restart fully.
I am in a city but still no eSIM signal. Is coverage an issue?
LTE.app plans use multi-network coverage. If one carrier has an outage, manually select a different carrier in your network settings. Smart Coach can identify which carriers are available for your plan.
