LTE.app Smart Coach — automatic diagnosis
Smart Coach checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — no data needed. Open the app and tap Smart Coach to fix most issues in under 60 seconds.
Step-by-step fixes
1
Enable data roaming for the eSIM line
Settings → Cellular → tap your eSIM plan name → Data Roaming: On. This is the fix for the majority of "no data" issues on iPhone. Without it, the eSIM registers to a carrier but blocks internet traffic.
2
Set the eSIM as your Cellular Data line
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data → select your eSIM (not your home SIM). If your physical SIM is selected, your eSIM has signal but no active data routing.
3
Toggle the eSIM line off and back on
Settings → Cellular → tap your eSIM → "Turn On This Line" toggle off, wait 10 seconds, toggle back on. This sends a fresh registration request to the carrier.
4
Force-restart the iPhone
Press Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears. A modem reset often fixes stuck activation or persistent "No Service" states.
5
Check and update APN settings
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network → check the APN field. The correct APN is shown in your LTE.app plan details. If blank or incorrect, enter the carrier's APN manually.
6
Reset Network Settings
Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings. This clears corrupted APN configs. Note: you will need to rejoin Wi-Fi networks after.
7
Use Smart Coach for automatic diagnosis
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — even without mobile data — and walks you through the exact fix for your device and carrier.

Which iPhone models support eSIM?
iPhone XS, XS Max, XR (2018) and all models from 2018 onwards support eSIM. iPhone 14 (US models) and iPhone 15/16 (worldwide) are eSIM-only with no physical SIM slot. All eSIM-capable iPhones work with LTE.app.
My iPhone eSIM shows "No Service" after landing abroad. How do I fix it?
Enable data roaming (Settings → Cellular → eSIM line → Data Roaming: On), toggle airplane mode for 30 seconds, then wait up to 2 minutes for carrier registration. If still not connecting, manually select a carrier in Network Selection settings.
I have two SIMs on my iPhone but only the home SIM works. What is wrong?
Go to Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data and select your eSIM as the active data line. Also enable data roaming on the eSIM line. The iPhone defaults to your home SIM for data unless changed manually.
My iPhone is showing "eSIM is not supported" error. Why?
This error appears on carrier-locked devices. Contact your home carrier to check if your iPhone is locked and request an unlock. Once unlocked, eSIM installation should succeed.
