Step-by-step fixes
1
Find the correct eSIM setting on your Android
Android eSIM settings vary by manufacturer. Try: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add SIM (Samsung) — Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add a SIM (Pixel) — Settings → Mobile Network → Dual SIM → Add eSIM (Motorola). Look for "SIM," "Mobile Network," or "Dual SIM" in settings.
2
Use good lighting when scanning
The camera needs to clearly see the QR code. Ensure the QR code fills the scan frame completely. Avoid glare from screens or windows. Print the QR code if scanning from a computer screen is difficult.
3
Use the link instead of QR code
Most LTE.app QR codes include an activation link in the email. On Android, you can often tap the link directly in a browser to install the eSIM without scanning. Look for "Activate using activation code" or "Enter code manually."
4
Enter the SM-DP+ address manually
If QR scanning keeps failing, tap "Enter code manually" and type in the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your welcome email. This bypasses QR code scanning entirely.
5
Ensure your device is unlocked
Carrier-locked Android phones often block eSIM QR codes from other providers. Contact your carrier to confirm your device is unlocked before troubleshooting further.
6
Use Smart Coach for automatic diagnosis
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — even without mobile data — and walks you through the exact fix for your device and carrier.

My Android says "Error 1" or "Error 2" when scanning the eSIM QR. What does this mean?
Error codes vary by manufacturer. Most mean the QR code was not recognized — either the device is carrier-locked, the QR code has expired, or the scan was unsuccessful. Try entering the activation code manually from your LTE.app email.
