How Long Does an eSIM Last?

Travel eSIM plans have two time limits: validity (how long your data lasts from first use) and expiry (how long you have to install the plan before it expires). Understanding both prevents wasted plans.

Validity: when data counting starts

Most travel eSIM plans start counting validity from first use β€” the moment your eSIM connects to a local carrier. A 7-day plan gives you 7 full days from the moment you land, not from when you purchased it. This means you can buy a plan weeks in advance without losing any data.

Installation expiry: the deadline to activate
