eSIM APN Settings — How to Fix Them
APN (Access Point Name) settings tell your phone how to connect to the carrier's data network. Wrong APN = no data, even when your eSIM is connected. Here's how to check and fix yours.

LTE.app Smart Coach — automatic diagnosis
Smart Coach checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — no data needed. Open the app and tap Smart Coach to fix most issues in under 60 seconds.
Step-by-step fixes
1
Find your APN settings on iPhone
Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network (iPhone 14 and earlier) OR Settings → Cellular → tap your eSIM line → Cellular Data Network (iPhone 15+). If greyed out, the carrier pushes APN automatically — leave it.
2
Find your APN settings on Android
Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → tap your eSIM line → Access Point Names. On Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Access Point Names → tap your eSIM.
3
Get the correct APN from your provider
LTE.app plans use APN: "lte" for most regions. Your order confirmation email includes the APN for your specific plan. If unsure, use Smart Coach — it reads your current APN and compares it against the correct value for your destination.
4
Create a new APN entry if the list is empty
Android: Access Point Names → tap "+" → enter Name (LTE.app), APN (lte), leave other fields blank unless specified → Save → select the new APN. iOS APN fields are usually auto-configured via the QR code carrier profile.
5
Reset APNs to default if settings are corrupted
Android: Access Point Names → menu (⋮) → Reset to default. This clears any corrupted APN entries and restores carrier defaults. Restart after resetting.
6
Use Smart Coach for automatic diagnosis
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — even without mobile data — and walks you through the exact fix for your device and carrier.

What is the correct APN for LTE.app eSIM plans?
Most LTE.app plans use APN: "lte". Your order confirmation includes the exact APN for your plan. Smart Coach can verify and correct your APN automatically without manual entry.
My iPhone APN settings are greyed out. Is that normal?
Yes. When a carrier profile is installed via QR code (standard eSIM installation), iOS locks the APN to prevent accidental changes. The carrier sets it correctly automatically. Greyed-out APN on iPhone means the profile is installed correctly.
I entered the APN correctly but still have no data. What else can I check?
Correct APN is one of three requirements for eSIM data. Also check: 1) data roaming is enabled on the eSIM line, 2) the eSIM is set as the active data SIM, 3) the plan is active and has remaining data.
