Step-by-step fixes

Check if your plan allows hotspot/tethering
Not all travel eSIM plans allow personal hotspot. Check your plan details in the LTE.app app. LTE.app plans explicitly state hotspot support. If tethering is blocked at the carrier level, no device setting can override it.

Enable Personal Hotspot correctly
iOS: Settings → Cellular → tap your eSIM line → Personal Hotspot → Allow Others to Join: On. Android: Settings → Network → Hotspot & Tethering → Mobile Hotspot → On → ensure it is using the eSIM line as the source.

Check APN tethering settings
Some carriers require a separate APN for tethering traffic. iOS: Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data Network → scroll to "Personal Hotspot" section — ensure APN is filled (same as data APN for most plans). Android: APN settings → check Tethering APN field.

Disable Low Data Mode
iOS Low Data Mode can interfere with hotspot. Settings → Cellular → tap eSIM line → Low Data Mode: Off. Retry hotspot connection after disabling.

Toggle hotspot off and on
Turn the hotspot off, wait 10 seconds, turn it back on. On the connecting device, forget the hotspot network and reconnect. Sometimes the session stalls and needs resetting.

Does my LTE.app eSIM plan support hotspot?
Check your plan details in the LTE.app app. Most LTE.app plans support personal hotspot for sharing data to laptops or tablets. Plans that restrict hotspot clearly state this in the plan description.
My hotspot connects but the connected device has no internet. Why?
This is usually the tethering APN being blank. On iPhone, ensure the Personal Hotspot APN in Settings → Cellular Data Network is filled with the same APN as your data APN. Smart Coach can verify and fix tethering APN settings.
