Android eSIM installation takes under 2 minutes. The exact steps vary slightly by manufacturer — find your phone below.
Samsung Galaxy — install via QR
- 1Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM.
- 2Tap "Scan QR Code from Service Provider."
- 3Scan the QR from your LTE.app email.
- 4Tap "Add" when prompted.
- 5In SIM Manager, set the new eSIM as your Data SIM.
- 6Tap your eSIM → enable Mobile Data and Data Roaming.
Google Pixel — install via QR
- 1Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM (or "+" icon).
- 2Tap "Scan QR code." Your camera opens.
- 3Scan the QR from your LTE.app email.
- 4Tap "Activate" when the plan details appear.
- 5In SIMs settings, set the eSIM as your preferred data SIM and enable Roaming.
Manual entry fallback (all Android)
- 1In your eSIM install screen, look for "Enter code manually," "Enter activation code," or a keyboard icon.
- 2Copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your LTE.app email.
- 3Paste both values into the fields and confirm.
💡
The exact label varies: Samsung calls it "Enter activation code manually"; Pixel shows a keyboard icon.
After installation — configure for travel
- 1Set the eSIM as the preferred data SIM (SIM Manager → Data SIM on Samsung; Network & Internet → SIMs → Preferred SIM on Pixel).
- 2Enable data roaming on the eSIM line.
- 3Restart your phone or toggle airplane mode off/on.
- 4Wait 60 seconds for carrier registration.
Having trouble? Smart Coach diagnoses automatically.
Open LTE.app and tap Smart Coach. It checks your APN settings, roaming state, and carrier connection automatically — even without mobile data.
Frequently asked questions
Which Android phones support eSIM?
Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Z Fold 2+, Z Flip 5G+, Google Pixel 3 and later, and most flagship Android phones from 2020 onwards. Check lte.app/device-compatibility for your specific model.
I cannot find "Add eSIM" in my Android settings. Where is it?
Search "eSIM" in your phone's settings search bar. If nothing appears, your device may not support eSIM, or you may need to check your carrier has enabled eSIM on your account (some carriers require this).
My Android says the eSIM was installed but it is not in my SIM list. What happened?
Try restarting your phone. If the eSIM still does not appear, the install may not have completed. Try scanning the QR code again from a different Wi-Fi network. Each QR is single-use — if already consumed, contact LTE.app support for a replacement.
